You could say Packerland got its start on the ground floor. Actually, it was the basement of the Schultz family’s Brookfield, WI home. John Schultz, Sr. literally laundered Milwaukee mat rentals in the family home’s basement and delivered the clean mats to his customers… all in the family’s station wagon! From that basic beginning in 1969, Packerland has continually provided Wisconsin companies with outstanding floor mat rental, cleaning and delivery.

Packerland’s humble beginnings in the mat service industry are only half the story. We are now well versed in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) compliance, the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and are members of the NFSI (National Floor Safety Institute). Packerland prides itself on doing its part in keeping the Earth clean and by keeping occupants that enter a building safe by being LEED Professionals.

LEED certification entails the design and installation of permanent walk-off service mats that prevent incoming contaminants from entering a building. This debris can be the cause of unnecessary slips, trips and falls in public and private buildings. The LEED system rates the commercial entrance mats and helps to meet certain house­ keeping criteria.

LEED standards recommend that a minimum of 6′ of commercial entrance mats be placed in the doorway of a building. These service mats trap incoming contaminants in their fibers. In a 20-day work period, up to 24 pounds of dirt can be tracked in on people’s footwear. That’s a possible 288 pounds of dirt brought in to a building within a year! As most people don’t wipe their feet upon entering a building, service mats are proven to be 90% effective in trapping moisture, dirt and debris for safety purposes.
